Ramallah - 7/3/2024: A press release issued by the Public Relations and Media Department of the Customs Police Service stated that it dealt with nearly 200 cases last June in cooperation with civilian partner agencies and the competent security services, within the framework of combating the phenomenon of smuggling in all its forms and protecting... National economy.
The statement indicated that the cases were divided between tax and customs cases, in addition to cases related to the economic, health, agricultural and public safety fields.
The details of the statement stated that the agency dealt with:
-100 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and supply the treasury with funds, which are detailed as follows:
- Arresting 69 tax and customs cases and transferring taxpayers to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
_ 22 cases of goods coming from Israel that did not carry a clearing invoice were seized.
-9 Issues in the field of smuggled tobacco that is banned from circulation due to its economic harm and depletion of the state treasury.
-Dealing with 50 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy to prevent the spread of corrupt, counterfeit and settlement goods, which are detailed as follows:
Approximately 7.3 tons of expired materials were seized and destroyed
-Seized 2.7 tons (of food supplies, cosmetics, and cosmetics) that did not carry an identification card in Arabic, and materials that violated mandatory technical instructions.
Approximately 36 pieces and 53 bead toys were seized, which are goods prohibited from trading in the Palestinian market.
In the same context, 30 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to provide food and health security:
_ During which approximately 3 tons of expired materials were seized, and based on the decision of the competent authorities, they were destroyed.
-2672 packages of sexual stimulants and nutritional supplements, which are materials prohibited from circulation and do not have licenses, were delivered to the competent authorities.
_ 2000 liters of mineral water that violated specifications and standards were seized.
_ 15 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, in support of the agricultural sector and encouraging local products, including:
_ 12 cases of agricultural products that do not have agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from being traded by decision of the Minister of Agriculture.
-3 Cases of animal products that do not have agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from circulation by decision of the Minister of Agriculture.
_ 7 cases of illegal communications in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology:
During which 48 postal parcels were seized that did not have licenses from the Ministry of Communications, 12 Israeli parcels and nearly a thousand telecommunications SIM cards banned from circulation. The seized items were handed over to the Ministry until the legal procedures were completed.
